Great work by our eight winners!

Burgettstown’s PJAS students competed in the regional competition over the weekend at California University. Our students worked very hard on their projects and were extremely successful at the competition.

Seven of our students took home first place awards for their projects.
-Madeline Newark (7th Grade)- "Which Kind of Water Makes Plants Grow Taller?"
-Turner Lehman (8th Grade)- "Bridge Bonanza"
-Miranda Schramm (8th Grade)- "Penetrating Oil Performance Comparison"
-Ashley Cunningham (10th grade)- "Growing Crystals"
-Desiree Bouch (10th Grade)- "Electrophoresis"
-Madison Tournay (10th Grade)- "Cupcake Chemistry"
-Tenth grader Erin Smith received a first place award, perfect score award, and exemplary award in high school Biochemistry for her project, "The Squish Factor", testing the stress and strain loads of viscoelastic hydrogels synthesizing bodily tissues.
Seventh grader, Virginia Lohn received a second place award for her project "What is the Best Paper Towel Brand?"
Great work by everyone and thanks to Mr. Tropeck and Mrs. Ward for assisting the students.  Good luck in the state competition in May!
