What is 4-H?

    4-H is a youth program (for ages 8-18) sponsored by Cooperative Extension of Penn State University. You will grow in knowledge, skills, citizenship and leadership.


    At the local level: 

    You choose up to 3 projects you will work on at club meetings and finish at home. We meet during activity periods and after school at the high school.

    Projects to choose from include:

    • Eligibility for Cash $$ awards for entering project at county fair
    • Eligibility for county scholarships for completing projects for 2 years and turning in books


    At the county level:

    Christmas Carol singing, family dinner, day camp, horse seminars, county fair, public speaking competition, modeling, Ag days at the mall, and many more


    At the state and regional level:

    State Day competitions, ambassador training, horse competition, over night camp and others


    Cost: project supplies and transportation- $30 registration must be in to attend meetings


    When: Activity period meetings –must attend 3 from January to June to consider a project completed
