Welcome!
My name is Elizabeth Elek, and I am the choral director, musical director, and drama club sponsor for Burgettstown Middle/High School.
About Me: I hold a Bachelor's of Science in Music Education from Duquesne University's Mary Pappert School of Music, and a Master's of Music in Music Education from The University of Southern Mississippi's College of Arts and Sciences. Additionally, I continue to foster my own musical growth by singing in the local chamber choir Voces Solis. In my free time I like to read, hike, and play with my dog Grayson. I am SO excited for all of the musical (and non-musical) opportunities we will have this school year!
Our Classroom: In chorus, I foster a safe space in which students can sing without fear of judgment, make mistakes freely, and be themselves. We work on singing technique, music theory (reading music), good musicianship, ensembleship, and performance skills.
Connect with Me: I am always here to help our students be the best they can be! Please see the "Contact Me" page for more information on how we can connect.
Online Resources: Stay updated on class announcements, assignments, and important dates by visiting our Google Classroom(s). I will regularly update them with resources to support our students so that they can thrive.
Here's to a fantastic year of music, learning, and growing!
All the best,
Ms. Elizabeth Elek
