Welcome to Mr. Foster's 5th Grade Classroom! Dear Students and Parents, Welcome to an exciting new school year in 5th grade! I am thrilled to be your teacher and to embark on this learning journey together. This welcome page is designed to introduce you to our classroom environment, routines, and expectations.
Routines and Procedures: To ensure a smooth and productive year, we will establish consistent routines and procedures. Each morning, we will begin with a morning meeting to set the tone for the day and build a sense of community. Throughout the day, we will follow a structured schedule that includes dedicated time for core subjects, such as math, reading, writing, science, and social studies, as well as opportunities for enrichment and exploration.
Expectations: In our classroom, we strive to create a positive and inclusive learning environment where everyone feels safe, supported, and encouraged to succeed. To achieve this, I expect each student to: - Respect themselves, their classmates, and their teacher - Actively participate in class discussions and activities - Demonstrate kindness and empathy towards others - Take responsibility for their own learning and behavior - Always strive to do their best and never be afraid to ask for help when needed.
Communication: Open communication between home and school is essential for student success. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns, or celebrations throughout the school year. You can reach me via email, phone, or by scheduling a meeting during my office hours. Additionally, I will provide regular updates through newsletters, class websites, and class dojo.
