    SCHOOL POLICE OFFICER - The Burgettstown Area SD, Washington County, is seeking a school police officer. Available on or before August 30, 2021.  Successful candidates must be Act 120 certified or a graduate of the Pennsylvania State Police Academy and have prior experience as a police officer.   Currently certified, or willing to be certified in National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO) Basic and Advanced SRO coursework.  Salaried position. Must be able to work independently and with groups of educators or students.  Must provide law enforcement to district schools and protect employees, students and property in order to create a safe and healthy learning environment.  Interested applicants can submit a letter of interest, resume, three letters of recommendation, a copy of Act 120 certification and current Act 34, 114 and 151 clearances (dated within 1 year) to:  Burgettstown Area School District, Marci Campa, 100 Bavington Road, Burgettstown, PA 15021 or via email to mcampa@burgettstown.k12.pa.us.  Deadline: May 21, 2021.  Burgettstown Area SD is an EOE.

    The district participates in the PA-Educator.net employment services.  Educators interested in employment with us should file their PA Standard Application and credentials on the PA-Educator site. 

    According to Board Policy 304, all teachers employed by the District, who teach core academic subjects shall be highly qualified, as defined by federal law and state regulations.  The written certifications are maintained in the district office and are available to the public upon request.

    Support Staff  

    The District is seeking substitute bus drivers to transport students to and from school in the Burgettstown Area School District. Will train qualified applicants. Drivers with a CDL with S endorsement desired. Must have clean driving record. Must be 21 years of age.  Contractual rate of pay with optional healthcare benefits.  Pension eligible.  Approximately 20 hours/wk.  Substitute positions also available.  Please submit applications/resumes to Marci Campa, 100 Bavington Road, Burgettstown, PA 15021.     Substitutes Needed
    If you have a Bachelor's degree or higher, you could be a substitute teacher in Pennsylvania Schools.  Here in Burgettstown, we have a paid training program designed to help you take advantage of this opportunity and become approved to work in our schools as a day-to-day sub.   The pay is $105/day.  For more information or to begin the application process, please contact the District at Substitute.Info.Contact

    NOTE: All substitute teachers are required by PA Act 48 of 2005 to have earned 180 continuing education credits every 5 years after certification.  Teachers without the required hours are only permitted to work 90 days as a substitute teacher.
