    "Music IS for a lifetime."

Thought for the week:  I try to post something to think about where music is concerned in this space. Until it's time for the next topic, please enjoy my video for our "Virtual Open House"!

    Important Announcements/Events:

With all the research that occurred over the summer regarding aerosols (water drops in the air we breathe out), masks, instruments, and players, we are moving all our lessons online until further notice. Currently enrolled elementary instrument students have been invited to join the Google Classroom for "Band". Please check your student's school email for the invitation and the link for scheduling can be found in the "Classwork" section of the "Band" Google Classroom.

ENROLLING FOR LESSONS - NEW Students

If your student in grades 4 or 5 is interested in playing an instrument but has NOT had a try-out, please have them schedule a try-out with me! My schedule is quite limited, so try-outs MUST be put on my schedule through my Google Calendar. I can only do try-outs when the students are in school and only 2 at a time.

For the parents...a brief summary of how our lesson program works...

There is minimal cost for a lesson book and supplies, depending on the instrument. Instrument rentals are handled through Volkwein’s Music in Robinson. Guitar, bass, ukulele, and piano instruments are best purchased through Guitar Center in Robinson or with my recommendations on Amazon.

What we teach in the BAEC instrumental music program:

Woodwind Instruments - Flute, Clarinet, Alto Saxophone

Brass InstrumentsTrumpet, Trombone, French Horn, Baritone/Euphonium

Percussion (snare, bass, set, mallets, accessories)

Modern Band - Guitar, Ukulele, Bass, Piano

If you're interested in venturing out to see local performances, there are many that are closed, but happening online right now. I encourage you to take the time with your students and explore some of our awesome virtual music venues and events! Facebook Live and YouTube are the two most common places to see performances right now.
