My mission is to help each student learn responsibility and to help them achieve the “I can do anything attitude.” Through this acceptance of responsibility will come the realization of the power of believing in themselves. I will set high expectations and help students meet these expectations. I will create a safe and non-threatening classroom where all students will feel that they are special and that all of their thoughts and beliefs are important.

     I grew up believing that I could be anything that I wanted to be as long as I accepted my mistakes and most importantly, learned from them as well. This is what I want my students to believe when they leave my classroom. I wish for them to know that it does not matter where they grew up, or how much money they have, what matters is the power of believing in themselves. The high expectations that I set will hopefully be met because no one will feel threatened by anyone in the class and success will come, even if it takes more than one try to achieve it. Because my course is focused on writing and a lot of time will be spent revising their writing, I wish for my students to learn that they can also “revise” their beliefs and know that they can achieve success if they accept responsibility for all that they do.
