Welcome to Mrs. Boyd's Website!
My name is Mrs. Stacy Boyd and I will be your child's learning support reading teacher. I am honored to be working with your child.About Me: I graduated from California University of Pennsylvania in December 2003 with a Bachelor of Science degrees in Elementary Education and Special Education. I returned to California University of Pennsylvania to obtain my master’s degree as a reading specialist and graduated in May 2007. I began my teaching career in residential treatment facilities before joining the staff at Burgettstown. This is my 20th year teaching and 15th year at Burgettstown. When I am not at school, I am with my husband, son, and two dogs. I really enjoy watching my son play soccer. Our Classroom: In learning support reading the students will be working on improving their basic reading skills, oral reading fluency, and reading comprehension. The students will take the CORE Reading Assessment 3 times per year to show what growth they have made in their reading skills. If the student is in the Wilson Reading Program, they will also be evaluated with the WADE twice a year. This class is direct instruction.Connect With Me: I can be reached via email at sboyd@burgettstown.k12.pa.us and/or phone by calling 724-947-8100 ext. 5209. I expect to read my email in the morning, during my planning, and at the end of the day. However, other responsibilities may interfere with my best efforts. My first priority is always to my students, but trust that I will respond to your messages.Online Resources: In this class, we utilize google classroom. I will post each week what the students will be working on.I am excited to be working with your students this year and can't wait to see their growth in reading.Sincerely,Mrs. Boyd
