Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Suica

Hello, wonderful families!

I am Amanda Suica, and I am overjoyed to be your child's teacher this school year. Let me share a little bit about myself.

Background: I am passionate about education and creating a positive and engaging learning environment for all students. I hold a degree in Elementary Education and Special Education from West Liberty State College, and this is currently my 21st year of teaching at Burgettstown Elementary School. I am currently the Special Education Department Chair for the Elementary Center and have been for several years. I am also the Co-Chair of the CHAMPS Committee and have been doing this for over 15 years.

Interests: Fun Fact: Both of my boys went to Burgettstown. I have 2 sons, one is currently an Iron Worker apprentice and the other one will graduate from BHS this year and is attending Edinboro University for Speech Pathology and will be on their wrestling team.  Outside the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family. I also enjoy taking my dogs for a walk and letting my cat sit on my lap while I'm reading a book. Camping and swimming are two of my favorite things to do. My favorite place to go on vacation is the beach. I believe that bringing our interests into the classroom helps create a connection with students and fosters a positive and open learning environment.

Communication: I strongly believe in the partnership between home and school. Clear communication is key to your child's success. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions, concerns, or just to share the exciting moments in your child's life. I am here for you and your child every step of the way.  Class Dojo is a great way to communicate.

Classroom Environment: Our classroom is not just a place for learning; it's a community where every student is encouraged to explore, ask questions, and grow. I am dedicated to creating an inclusive and welcoming space where each child can thrive academically and socially.

Expectations: I have high expectations for our students, but I also believe in providing the necessary support to help them meet those expectations. Together, as a team, we can help your child achieve their goals and build a foundation for a lifetime of learning.

I am genuinely excited about the upcoming school year and the opportunity to get to know each student individually. Let's work together to make this a fantastic and memorable academic journey for your child.

Feel free to contact me at or via the class dojo app.

Here's to a year filled with growth, learning, and lots of fun!

Warm regards,

Amanda Suica
